Akhilesh's repartee: Dubs MLCs resignation as 'political corruption' of BJP

Chandauli/Sonbhadra: Giving a befitting reply to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for claiming that the Uttar Pradesh Assembly election results will give an electric shock to Samajwadi Party, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in for a shock if he knows about the gathering in my meeting.

The UP CM addressed two back to back public meetings at Chandauli and Sonbhadra districts. "BJP says, SP will suffer electric shock once the election results are out. But if the PM will witness the huge gathering at this rally, he will have a high voltage shock."

He also scoffed at PM Modi for holding road shows in Varanasi on two consecutive days, saying, "PM is holding the second road show in Varanasi as he failed to pass the test in first attempt."

Akhilesh once again dared the Prime Minister for debate over development, saying, "He is seeking report of our works even when he has not fulfilled a single poll promise during his 2.5 years at the Centre. The BJP people are running away from debate over development because they know that they have nothing to show."

Accusing PM Modi of trying to mislead people, Akhilesh Yadav asked people in Sonbhadra, "Did PM Modi come here? He will not visit the district as he has not derived a single welfare scheme for the people here," adding, "I have come here because the SP government has bettered the water, electricity and healthcare services in the region."

What else Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said?

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi kept on visiting foreign countries and only came back to Varanasi at the time of polls.
  • The PM is very frustrated as he has seen his defeat in the UP elections.
  • None of his tactics have worked in the elections so far.
