Ganga water available at seven postal counters in Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow: The Indian Postal Department launched its scheme of selling the ‘Ganga Jal’ (holy Ganga water) through its outlets across the state on Monday.

The scheme was inaugurated in Lucknow by Director of Uttar Pradesh division of postal services Vivek Kumar Daksh.

Sale counters have been set up at seven major post offices in the state." One can go there and buy the holy water at specific rates and in case one is unable to come to the post officer then the department is also providing the facility of home delivery through speed post,” Daksh told newztrack.com.

The holy water has been collected from Gangotri and Rishikesh and it is available in the packaging of 200 ml, and 500ml each, he added. The cost of 200 ml bottle from the Gangotri glaciers costs Rs 25 while Rs 35 for the 500 ml packaging.

The Ganga Jal from Rishikesh is available at a price of Rs 15 for 200 ml and Rs 22 for 500 ml.

One can also get it delivered at home by ordering it on www.indiapost.gov.in –or www.epostofficce.gov.in. The outlets have been opened at Allahabad, Agra, Bareilly, Gorakhpur, Kanpur and Lucknow.
