Dehradun: The fate of Congress and former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat will be decided on the floor of state assembly on Tuesday.

The nine rebel Congress members who had appealed in the Supreme Court against their disqualification under the defection law will not vote during the floor test.

The strength of Uttarakhand Assembly has come down to 61 after this order of Supreme Court. For winning the floor test it will require only 31 members’ support. As the party has the backing of the seven other members including independents Rawat can breathe easy.

The 27-member, BJP can hope to win only when a majority of these non-Congress members side with it.
