Over 100 killed in fire at Puttingal temple in Kollam of Kerala
Kollam: More than 100 people lost their lives in a massive fire that broke out at Puttingal temple at Paravaur (Kollam District), Kerala on Sunday in the wee hours.
Around two hundred sustained burn injuries and were rushed to the hospital, confirmed Kerala Director General of Police Senkumar.
The Prime Minister Narendra Modi has rushed to the Kollam along with a team of specialized army doctors.
The fire broke out at around 0330 hours and it is being reported that it would have been caused due to a blast at a firework stockpile. The district officials had earlier warned temple authorities to restrict usage of fireworks.
