Azam Khan is the 'Waqf Mafia', will face action, says Dr Naqvi

Rampur: Central Waqf board member Dr Sayed Azaz Abbas Naqvi, who is also the in-charge of the board's Uttar Pradesh wing, on Saturday, described former urban development minister Azam Khan as 'Waqf mafia', blaming him of illegally grabbing the many lands of the board.

"Azam Khan is a 'Waqf Mafia', who has illegally grabbed several lands of the board. Now, the illegal occupations will be removed, and legal procedure will be followed against the occupants," said Dr Naqvi.

It may be mentioned that Dr Naqvi on Saturday reached Rampur and inspected the demolished and occupied Waqf properties, before interacting with the media persons.

What he said to the reporters?

  • Azam Khan misused power to illegally grab the lands of the board,
  • The SP leader demolished the market at the Hussaini Sarai, located near Vikas Bhavan, by illicit use of power.
  • Shia Waqf board chairman Wasim Rizvi is also responsible for the same.
  • Action will be taken against all who were indulged in these irregularities.

Dr Naqvi also claimed that Azam Khan's 'Rampur Public School' made on the land of Waqf board near Mohalla Ghosiyan was also constructed violating the laws, as it is the ancestral property of 'Nawabs'.

"The land was converted into public trust's property by forged documents. Subsequently, the school building was constructed here. The Mohalla Madarsa Kohan was demolished and its debris was used in constructing Azam Khan's Jauhar University. This matter will also be investigated," he said.
