Geneva: People of Baluchistan who are fighting for freedom and against the repression of Pakistan has got one more ardent supporter, besides India, the European Union (EU).

The Union which has 28 countries as members is of the view that Pakistan has violated the human rights in Baluchistan and caused untold miseries to people living there.

The EU has recently threatened to impose economic sanction against that country if it continued to commit atrocities on Baluchis.

Under its constitution if any country with which it has bilateral economic and political relations violates the human rights the organisation can impose a sanction. according to Vice- president of European parliament Richard Czarnecki. "We have set a human rights standards which, if not followed, empower us to take action" he told the parliament during a debate on the issue.

The E U has a bilateral agreement with Pakistan which provides for economic sanction. " we have warned them in the past. Now, there will be no more warning but only action."

Making a scathing attack, he said Pakistan is two-faced, one shows its innocence and the other cruelty. Some other speakers supported him.

The debate was held in parliament following protest march by Baluchis here last week to gather support for freedom from Pakistan. The people of Baluchistan has also held demonstrations in other parts of the world.

India has already expressed solidarity with Baluchistan and assured to provide all possible help to Baluchis.
