Steep hike in Taj Mahal tickets foreign and domestic tourists

Agra: The entry fee of Taj Mahal and other protected Archaeological sites in Agra have almost been doubled with effect from Friday (April 1 2016) on the orders of Tourism ministry.

A notification was issued by the Central government in this regard on Thursdaylast and now foreign tourist will have to fish out Rs 500 instead of Rs 250 to visit the seven wonder of the world while local tourists will have to pay Rs 40 including the toll tax.

The decisions to hike the ticket rates across India for all archaeological sites have been taken after a gap of 12 years.
