Lucknow: The election commission in reply to Ram Gopal Yadav's application, has put onus on Mulayam Singh Yadav to furnish his claim regarding the Samajwadi Party symbol.

The EC has also asked to submit his copy of the application supported by an affidavit and authenticated copies of all relevant documents on which Netaji suppose to rely for declaring the party as true and genuine Samajwadi Party.

The reply has to be filed latest by Monday, January 9, and it should be accompanied by six spare copies, the EC said in the directive given to the SP chief.

The commission stated, "Mulayam Singh Yadav should also file individual affidavits from the mebers of the organisational and legislature wings of the party whose support he wants to claim."

The SP chief has also been directed by the Election Commission to submit the copies of the reply directly in advance to Ram Gopal Verma and the proof of service would be submitted to the commission.
