Road accident claims ten lives in Firozabad, several injured

Firozabad: Ten persons were killed when an uncontrolled truck crushed them to death in Bamba area under Uttar police station of Firozabad district in Uttar Pradesh on Friday night. As many 30 persons, all labourers, got injured in the incident.

The accident occurred when the speeding truck dashed against the roadside poll losing balance before crushing the people returning from a marriage ceremony, Senior Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Sharma told newztrack.com.

The ill-fated marriage procession:

• The accident happened at around 2200 hours.
• Around 30 people were injured in the accident.
• They were returning from a marriage procession and most of them were labours.
• Injured were rushed to the nearest Community Health Centre (CHC).
• The condition of four of them was stated to be critical, sources said.
• The truck driver managed to flee away from the spot leaving his vehicle.
