Do not give Kairana issue a ‘communal colour’: Rajnath Singh

Ahmedabad: Union Home Minsiter Rajnath Singh on Sunday said the issue of people migrating from Kairana in Shamli district of Uttar Pradesh should not be given a 'communal colour'.

“This is a serious concern if an individual or a group is forcing people to leave their native place. UP government should take strong action against the miscreants to calm the people down and make them stay back. Moreover, I request some people not to politicize this issue or give it a communal colour,” said Rajnath while addressing a public meeting in Ahmedabad of Gujarat.

The Uttar Pradesh government should also make proper arrangements to bring back the people who have already migrated to safer places, he added.

It may be mentioned that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Parliament Hukum Singh had earlier issued a list of people who left Kairana.
