UP CM targets some DMs and SSPs for poor disposal of public complaints

Lucknow: Irked at poor disposal of public grievances, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has sought clarification from ten District Magistrates (DMs) and ten District Police Chiefs for the same.

The worst performing districts in disposal of public grievances included state capital of Lucknow and Gorakhpur, the home district of CM Yogi. This is the first instance where the accountability of the District officials has come in for scrutiny.

The CM that the redressal of public grievances in the timeline is included in the highest priorities of the state government and strict action will be taken against those who have shown carelessness in this regard. He has also directed the Chief Secretary that while getting the clarification from these officers, also ensure to do expeditious disposal of the public grievances.

It may be recalled that the CM had already directed the DMs and SPs to meet the public in their respective offices or daily basis.

The districts where the DMs have come on Yogi's radar included Lucknow, Hardoi, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Kanpur Nagar, Gorakhpur, Allahabad, Sitapur, Agra, Jaunpur and Lakhimpur Kheri. Similarly, the SSPs/SPs of Lucknow, Hardoi, Gorakhpur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Bahraich, Jaunpur, Allahabad, Firozabad and Mainpuri have been asked to give clarification.
