Dalit couple hacked to death over Rs 15 loan in UP’s Mainpuri

Mainpuri: In a horrific incident, a Dalit couple was on Thursday hacked to death with a spade in Mainpuri district of Uttar Pradesh.

The assault took place after an argument ignited between the deceased couple and shopkeeper Ashok Mishra around 0600 hrs over a loan of a small amount of money.

The shopkeeper, who allegedly attacked the couple, has been nabbed by the police. According to eyewitnesses, the couple had borrowed Rs 15 from the seller and was unable to clear the debt.

It may be mentioned that Samajwadi Party (SP) supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav is a Member of Parliament (MP) from Mainpuri constituency.
