CJM court issues bailable warrant against Azam Khan

Lucknow: CJM Lucknow Sandhya Srivastava on Monday issued bailable warrant against ex-minister Azam Khan in the complaint filed by IPS officer Amitabh Thakur against him for using extremely improper language on November 29, 2015.
Previously the CJM had summoned Khan but he did not appear before the court.
The court said that enough efforts had been made to serve summons on Azam Khan and hence it issued bailable warrant with Rs. 10,000 personal bond against him, fixing 10 May 2017 as the next date of hearing.
As per the complaint, in a press conference in Rampur, Azam Khan had called Amitabh "idiotic" and "third-rated" person, calling him a blot on the administrative system. He had also said that RSS people are homosexuals and do not marry because of this.
Calling it defamatory, Amitabh had filed this complaint in which through its order dated 13 December 2016, the Court had found enough facts to summon Azam Khan under sections 500, 505 and 505 IPC.
