Lucknow: In a directive issued on Saturday by the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Public Works Department (PWD) has been asked to ensure that tainted firms, criminal, mafia and corrupt elements should be kept away from departmental works.

CM Adityanath said that all those who have been in bad light should be replaced by by people with good image and quality work delivery.

It is to be mentioned that this department was being held by the Samajwadi Party leader Shivpal Yadav for a long time before the BJP took over the throne. The PWD has attracted a lot of attention for irregularities during the rule of previous SP government.

The officials have also been directed to ensure that all roads in the state are potholes free by June 15 and government works and projects are completed within fixed timeline.

The order was issued by the UP CM while he was reviewing the works of the PWD along with the Deputy Chief Minister of the state Keshav Prasad Maurya.

Other orders:

  • Implementation of e-tendering facility in cleaning up the system to make it transparent and corruption free should be done.
  • Creation of a road network in the village on priority.
  • Prepare action so that large scale construction of roads is set rolling in the rural areas to make transportation and commuting easy for people living in the villages.
