Srinagar: In an appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Monday said the Centre would have to take a step forward and apply salve to the wounds of Kashmiris.

“Recently, I met the Premier and discussed the whole situation of the valley with him. Moreover, I really hope that he will make the best use of his mandate and power for saving the lives as well as future of the Kashmiri citizens,” said the CM while interacting with newsmen in the valley.

“It is the high time when the Central government should step forward and salve their (Kashmiris’) wounds. After all, Jammu and Kashmir is an Indian state and we should not let the neighbouring country (Pakistan) take advantage of the situation at any cost,” she added.
