Ballia: The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) on Thursday expelled its senior leader and former Member of Parliament Babban Rajbhar.

Rajbhar was expelled for indiscipline, party coordinator Madan Ram said.

Babban’s version:

“I have not done any indisciplinary act. I have called for a rally of Rajbhar community on April 17 and have also announced to boycott voting if our demand for including the Rajbhar community in the Scheduled Caste category is not met. This could be the reason of my expulsion,” he said.

About Babban Rajbhar:

  • He was the BSP MP from Salempur parliamentary constituency in 1999.
  • Denied BSP ticket for Lok Sabha, Rajbhar joined Congress.
  • He resigned from Congress in 2014 when he did not get party ticket.
  • He again joined BSP a few months ago and was made as the district coordinator.
