UP BJP to declare first list of candidates by January 15
Lucknow: The first meeting of Bharatiya Janata Party's core committee of Uttar Pradesh , convened to decide candidates for the coming assembly polls, took place amid noisy scenes as supporters of various aspirants gathered at the state party headquarters making vociferous case for their candidates.
Over three hour meeting in the presence of senior BIn Charge of UP afairs Om Mathur, state party President Kehsav Prasad Maurya and organisation secretary Sunil Bansal among others finalised few names.
later, speaking to media , Maurya said the names would be sent to central parliamentary board for the final nod.
He said the first list of candidates was expected to be announced by January 15 , a couple of days before the notification for the first phase of polling to be isued on January 17.
In fact, today's meeting was marked by a noisy protest against the candidature of Salil Vishnoi, the sitting MLA from Aryanagar in Kanpur which is going to polls in the third phase of UP assembly election on February 19 next.
