Varanasi: The Members of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) clashed with each other on Monday in Varanasi, ironically at the time when Prime Minister Narendra Modi and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal were present in the temple city.

The clash occurred when BJP workers allegedly threw stones on the procession of AAP in Sunderpur area, which ensued in minor clash in which several people were injured. Senior district officials rushed to the spot and controlled the situation.

Kejriwal may meet:

  • Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who is also in Varanasi, is likely to meet his party workers.
  • AAP workers staged a protest to demand the arrest of those involved in this incident.
  • He may also meet the injured.
