Varanasi: In a freakish incident, an actor of the Bhojpuri film industry Kamlesh Yadav, who usually played a villain in his films, was held by the Varanasi police with bundles of fake Indian currency notes on Thursday.

Turning out to be even a real-life villain, Yadav along with his driver was trying to spend the fake notes at a shop in Sarnath locality at Varanasi of Uttar Pradesh.

Soon after the shopkeeper realized that the notes given by Yadav were fake, he called the police, getting the Bhojpuri actor detained for the unlawful act.

Highlights:

  • The police has recovered fake notes worth Rs. 55,000 from Yadav’s Mahindra Scorpio.
  • He was eventually, sent behind the bars for keeping fake currency notes.
  • Apart from being a producer/actor of Bhohpuri film industry, Yadav, who is a native of Jaunpur (UP), owns a construction business in Mumbai.
