B K Bansal’s wife and daughter commit suicide after his arrest
New Delhi: Two days after Director General Corporate Affairs B K Bansal’s arrest on corruption charges, his wife and daughter were found hanging inside their residence at Nilkanth Apartments in Madhu Vihar of the national capital on Tuesday.
The bureaucrat’s wife Satyabala (58) and daughter Neha (28) allegedly hung themselves from ceiling fans in two different rooms of their apartment. Both of the deceased had left separate suicide notes, saying that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raid had caused ‘great mortification’ and they did not want to stay alive after that.
“Two separate suicide notes were recovered from Bansal’s apartment. The letters said that the CBI raid had caused them (deceased) great humiliation in society and they did not want to live anymore,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Rishipal Singh.
- Satyabala and Neha, in their suicide note, held nobody responsible for their death.
- Additional secretary rank officer Bansal was arrested by the CBI on Saturday last for accepting bribe from a pharmaceutical company.
