Allahabad HC stays the arrest of owners of-- Freedom 251

Allahabad: The Allahabad High Court on Wednesday stayed the arrest of Ashok Chaddha, Mohit Goel and Dharna Garg in a criminal case in which an FIR has been lodged against them for allegedly cheating the people in providing smart phones at the price of Rs 250.

The order has been passed by bench comprising justice BK Narain and justice Naheed Ara Moonis on a petition filed by Ashok Chaddha, Mohit Goel and Dharna Garg seeking arrest stay in the matter.

Passing the above order the Court has ordered the petitioners to surrender there passport before the SSP of Gautam Budh Nagar. The Court has asked the state counsel to seek instruct within one week and has ordered to list the case on April 5 for hearing.

It is to recall that Kirit Somaya had lodged the FIR under section 420 of IPC and section 66 of IT Act at police station Phase 3 Noida alleging therein that no one can provide a smart phone at such a low price and petitioners are cheating the people.
