Allahabad HC extends relief to owners of Ringing Bells company

Allahabad: The Allahabad high court on Thursday extended interim relief, for five weeks, to Ringing Bells Pvt Ltd, the company that has announced the Smartphone for Rs 251.

The Court extended the interim relief when respondents sought further time to file counter affidavit and granted three weeks time to file counter affidavit and two weeks for petitioners to file rejoinder affidavit.

the bench comprising justice BK Narayana and justice Ravindra Nath Mishra passed the above order while hearing petitions filed by Mohit Goel and Dharna Garg in a criminal case.

The petitioners contended that the entire amount received by Ringing Bells Pvt. Ltd from the prospective customers has been returned.

An FIR had been lodged by BJP leader Kirit Somaiya against the company’s top officials under Section 420 of IPC and Section 66 of IT Act for allegedly cheating the people in the name of providing Smartphone for Rs 250
