UP Polls: Akhilesh Yadav, Rahul Gandhi to jointly campaign today

Lucknow: Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav and Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi will begin joint campaign for Uttar Pradesh assembly elections today with the slogan ‘UP ko yeh saath pasand hai’ in Lucknow.

The slogan has been prepared by Congrees political strategist Prashant Kishore and sounds quite similar to Salman Khan’s song ‘Baby ko bass pasand hai’.

This will be for the first time when both Akhilesh and Rahul will share common platform after pre-poll alliance. Akhilesh Yadav's wife Dimple Yadav will also mark her presence in the meeting. The alliance has been formed to get 300 out of 403 assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh.

'UP ko yeh saath pasand hai' poster, having the picture of Rahul and Akhilesh, will also be released on the same occasion.

Following the press conference, duo will also hold a joint road show in the remote areas of the state capital. They are expected to kickstart their roadshow from Hazratganj area.

Earlier, Samajwadi Party had announced the formation of coalition with Congress for Uttar Pradesh assembly polls.
