Akhilesh Yadav did nothing for poor and farmers: Mayawati

Farukhabad: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Monday described Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav as a 'tainted leader' who has befooled the poor, weaker section and farmers of the state by not doing anything for their welfare during the past five years.

Addressing an election rally here, the former UP CM blamed Akhilesh of wasting so much of public money to advertise the government projects, whcih never came into existance.

He also appelaed people to be aware of the pre-poll alliance of Samajwadi Party and Congress, saying that any vote going in their favour will eventually benefit the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Showing confidence of BSP's victory in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections 2017, Mayawati said that the large number people at her rally had ensured her that she was going to regain power in the state with clear majority.

Accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of making false promises during his 2014 Lok Sabha election campaign, Mayawati said, "The time has come when the people of UP should show the exit gates to BJP in the state."

Promising to provide better law and order to the people under her regime, Mayawati said, "Everybody knows that whenever I come to power, criminals and anti-social elements are sent to jail on a priority basis."

Predicting the future of the Samajwadi Party, she said, "SP will cave in to internal contradictions and the bitter feud within the family and the party."

She claimed that the Shivpal Yadav camp, which has been sidelined from the party in the family drama will make sure that the Akhilesh camp does not win the election. She also alleged that SP patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav has humiliated and misused his younger brother Shivpal in his blind love for his son.
