Akhilesh govt raises DA of state employees by 7 per cent

Lucknow: The Akhilesh Yadav-led Uttar Pradesh government on Friday raised the Dearness Allowance by seven per cent of the employees of aided educational institutions, technical educational institutions and urban local bodies who were not benefited by implementation of the seventh pay commission.

The UP government's New Year scheme will benefit around 5 lakh employees of the state government.

The decision will also benefit the teachers who took retirement after July 1, 2016.

The increment in the DA will come into effect from January 1, 2017.
