New Delhi: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) is all set to come up with ‘adopt a patient’ policy for patients who are unable to bear treatment expenses.

The adoption scheme, officials said, will fill the gap between demand and supply in donations for AIIMS patients.

Everyday, 8,000-10,000 patients visit the hospital and almost 30 per cent to 40 per cent of them are poor and unable to bear further medical expenses.

The donation policy will be officially launched by AIIMS director M C Misra on Saturday.

  • Hospital has received Rs 14,000 from two individuls.
  • At present AIIMS provide relief to patients from President, PM and CM groups.
