New Delhi: Ms Mayawati is the first choice for the chief ministerial post in Uttar Pradesh in the coming assembly election while her Bahujan Samaj Party emerging as the single largest party, according to ABP- Neilson survey on Wednesday.

Ms Mayawati is the current favourite among prominent contenders of the post ahead of Akhilesh Yadav and Rajnath Singh, though surprisingly, in that order.

The survey rings an alarm bell for the ruling Samajwadi Party in the state predicting it to be on the third spot in 2017 assembly polls, certainly a big disappointment for Akhilesh.

Survey gives 185 seats to BSP, though short of majority in assembly of 403, followed by BJP 12 , SP 80 and the Congress at poor 4th with 13 seats.

More shocking in the survey has been the denial of developmental initiative of the ruling party with 66 per cent voters rejecting the claims. Same goes with the law and order situation of the state with 60 per cent complaining about it.
