7th Pay Commission arrears to be given in one installment

New Delhi: Government on Friday announced to pay the arrears of 7th pay commission to the government employees and pensioners in one installment.

The employees will get the arrears from January 1, 2016 with August salary.

BJP-led NDA government has recently notified freshly implementation of 7th Pay Commission recommendations which involves an average salary hike of about 23.55 percent benefiting more than a crore of government employees and pensioners.

According to the Ministry of Finance, new pay structure will also include 125 per cent dearness allowance.

New salaries-

  • As per 7th pay commission, the starting salary will be Rs. 18,000 which previously was Rs. 7000.
  • The cabinet secretary will now have basic pay of 2.5 lakhs per month compared to 90 thousand as per the sixth pay commission.
  • By now, increment will take place two times in every year i.e. on January 1 and July 1.
