Good News: India will enjoy latest defence technology of US

Washington: After being the major defence partner with the United State of America, India will now enjoy the access to 99 per cent of their latest defence technologies, a senior Obama administration official has said.

"India will now enjoy access the latest defence technologies with our treaty allies. That is a very unique status. India is the only other country that enjoys that status outside our formal treaty allies," reported media.

Earlier, a meeting of US President Barack Obama and Prime Minister Narendra Modi was held at the White House, the US, in a joint statement, recognized India as a 'Major Defence Partner'.

Under this recognition, India would receive license-free access to a wide range of dual-use technologies.
