Chennai: Advocate and martial art student K.P. Ranchana on Tuesday created a new world record by performing Yoga asanas (exercises) on a continuous note for 57 long hours. She began exercising on Monday and ended up setting the world record on the occasion of International Yoga Day.

Previously, it was Uttam Muktan of Nepal, who scripted such a record in December 2015 by practicing Yoga for 50 hours and 15 minutes.

After crafting stupendous record, K.P. Ranchana said-

  • I never felt tired performing the asanas.
  • After I completed it felt like 'why it all came to an end'.
  • From tomorrow onwards, I’ll get back to my usual routine.
  • It was my parent’s support and my guru's guidance that I was able to make it possible.
