Weather Updates: Snowfall Alert in Kashmir & Himachal Pradesh, Cold Wave Grips UP

New Delhi: Due to the Western Disturbance, clouds are visible over the areas of North India. However, this system is considered very weak. Therefore, its effect is limited to the mountainous areas. Therefore, the condition of the clouds was visible up to Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, besides Saharanpur and Muzaffarnagar in West UP.

Weather Update:

These clouds were visible till Chandigarh, Barnala, Moga in Punjab and Haryana and Panipat, Sonipat in Haryana. There are clouds over some parts of Northeast India too, but they will not cause rain. However, there is a possibility of rain at isolated places in Arunachal.

A circulation was also forming over the Gulf of Mannar in the south which has now weakened. A new Western Disturbance is going to knock on February 2, which is going to have a wide impact in the coming days in the hills and plains.

Snowfall in Lahaul-Spiti:

According to the India Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain and snowfall in areas like Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Kulgam, Pahalgam, Qazigund etc. Agar, Katra, Udhampur, Jammu region will remain cloudy but the weather will remain dry. Clouds can also be seen in Mata Vaishno Devi. According to the Meteorological Department, the devotees who are going for the darshan of Mata Vaishno should travel with caution. In Himachal Pradesh, snow activities are possible in the valley areas including Lahaul-Spiti, Kullu-Manali. Clouds will definitely remain in Uttarakhand but the weather will be mainly dry.

Similarly, the weather will remain dry over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. Due to the north-west direction of the winds, people will feel cold in this entire region including Delhi. Due to the cold winds in other parts of Rajasthan including the northern areas, people will feel the coolness even during the day.

Talking about Uttar Pradesh, dry weather in all cities of Uttar Pradesh including Agra, Aligarh, Bareilly, Jhansi, Lalitpur, Mahoba, East Kanpur, Lucknow, Barabanki, Amethi, Rae Bareli, Shravasti, Gonda, Basti, Prayagraj, Ayodhya, Varanasi Will stay Cold winds will continue to blow from the west, due to which the sky will remain clear and the chances of fog will be less. Due to these dry winds, the effect of sunshine will increase further in the coming days.
