IMD issues heavy rain alert; Warning for next 24 hours in Uttar Pradesh

NEW DELHI: In the capital Delhi-NCR, the new year has brought with it the chill of cold. Since the first week of January, winter havoc has been continuing across the country. Of these, the harsh cold in North India has made life difficult. In such a situation, snowfall is continuing in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and many parts of Uttarakhand.

Due to which the temperature of its surrounding areas has also come down. At the same time, the cold has taken a new form due to the rain that is happening somewhere.

Rain Alert in NCR:

Rainfall has been raining in the last several days in the country, including Delhi-NCR, UP, Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand. Due to which the chill has increased further. In Delhi-Gurugram, today (Wednesday) morning, hailstorm fell in many areas with rain.

The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a forecast of rain in several cities of some states including Delhi-NCR on Wednesday. At the same time, light to moderate rains and thunder showers are occurring in parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, western parts of Uttar Pradesh, northern and eastern Rajasthan of North India.

Snowfall in North India:

Earlier, the hill areas of North India received snowfall on Tuesday and plains received rain. Due to which the temperature dropped rapidly. People have been suffering from the cold here. This series has been going on for the last one week. People are just waiting for sunshine.

According to the Meteorological Department, rain warnings have been issued at different places associated with South, South-West, North-West Delhi, Rewari, Bhiwadi, Manesar, Gurugram, Palwal and Muzaffarnagar.

The Meteorological Department has already forecast till January 7 that light to moderate rains may occur in Delhi and its surrounding areas and thereafter the effect of cold can increase in the coming days. Due to which people have been issued a warning of survival.
