Weather Updates: Cold waves to continue in North India

The Meteorological Department has reported that temperatures in Punjab, Haryana and North Rajasthan will fall and cold wave may prevail.

New Delhi: Many states of the country have been freezing due to the consAtant temperature drop. The snowfall is getting more frequent in the hilly areas and the cold has increased. Cold winds are blowing in the plains.

The Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall in some states. According to the Meteorological Department, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Lakshadweep may receive rains with heavy storms from Monday to next three days.

Cold Waves in North India:

The Meteorological Department has reported that temperatures in Punjab, Haryana and North Rajasthan will fall and cold wave may prevail. The weather is expected to last for 3 days. Apart from this, fog and cold will increase in other states including UP, Delhi, Punjab, Haryana.

The Kashmir Valley also received snowfall on Sunday due to which cold conditions are running in the northern areas. Light rain has occurred in some areas of Uttar Pradesh and almost all the divisions of Madhya Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has said that Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 7.8 degrees Celsius.

Snowfall in Kashmir:

Unusual heavy snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir declared a natural disaster. After the declaration of natural disaster, rescue operations will be accelerated. It will also help in providing relief to the people affected by the snowfall. Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha has asked all the District Deputy Commissioners of Kashmir and SSP level police officials to intensify rescue and relief operations in the snow-affected areas.

There are two systems in West Afghanistan and Arabian Sea due to which rain expected in the state. Rainfall may occur in Bhopal, Indore, Hoshangabad, Jabalpur and Sagar divisions in the next 48 hours. Apart from this, there is a possibility of hail in Bhopal and Indore divisions. Increase in maximum temperature of the state recorded.

The Meteorological Department has said that apart from the hilly states, a cold wave will occur in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Bihar. This round will continue for a week.
