New Delhi: Dense clouds are visible over the mountains of North India at this time. Dense clouds are visible in the skies of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Also, clouds are visible in the skies of Punjab and Haryana. However, there is no chance of rain in Punjab and Haryana. The reason for these clouds is the arrival of Western Disturbance one after the other.

Weather Forecast:

One disturbance had reached the mountains on 16 January while the other is coming on 18 January i.e. today. The third western disturbance is going to knock on January 21. It is expected that the coming disturbance is going to be more effective. This is the reason that cloud cover is being seen in the hilly states especially from Gilgit, Muzaffarabad, Baltistan to Punjab and Uttarakhand.

This is the reason that in the coming time up to 70 percent parts of Rajasthan and northern to central parts of Madhya Pradesh, besides Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and Jharkhand, moisture remains intact and due to the flow of cold winds in these states. The temperature has dropped rapidly. One is the movement of icy winds from the hilly states and the other has been the effect of cold wave in the absence of sunlight.

Snowfall in Hills:

According to the India Meteorological Department, in the mountains of North India, in all areas of Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and Ladakh and in Jammu and Kashmir, from Srinagar, Gulmarg, Qazigund, Pahalgam to Katra and some areas of Udhampur, rainfall and Snowfall activities can be seen.

Similarly, Shimla, Chamba, Dharamshala, Lahaul-Spiti, Una or Kullu Manali in Himachal Pradesh are likely to witness some rain and snow in all these places. More or less the same condition will remain in Uttarakhand as well. Light rain may occur at isolated places over Uttarakhand, especially in areas adjoining China and Nepal. Similarly, in the plains, changes may be seen in parts of North-West UP in Punjab and northern parts of Haryana, but there is no chance of rain on January 18.

According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), Churu, Ganganagar, Jaisalmer, Hanumangarh, Bikaner, Jaipur, Ajmer, Sawai Madhopur, Bharatpur, Alwar, Jhunjhunu also recorded a drop in day and night temperatures by 2 to 5 degrees Celsius in Rajasthan.
