Weather Update: IMD issues rain alert in Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh & Uttarakhand

It will rain at isolated places in Gilgit, Baltistan and Muzaffarabad and Ladakh on February 15.

New Delhi: A chain of clouds is present over the mountainous parts of North India, especially from Gilgit, Baltistan and Muzaffarabad to Ladakh and northern areas of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. They are visible on these mountains due to western disturbances. Especially, intensifying weather activities are visible over northern parts of Jammu and Kashmir and parts of Uttarakhand in Gilgit, Baltistan and Muzaffarabad and Ladakh.

Weather Update:

If we talk about the plain states, then Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and other regions have completely dry weather. There is a layer of mist, which is often visible in the morning. The sky is getting clearer now, the effect of sunlight is beginning to be seen. Clouds are very less over Northeast India. In South India also, the effect of rising clouds will start reducing.


If we look at the areas of North India, the way the effect of Western Disturbance is visible in the form of clouds. It will rain at isolated places in Gilgit, Baltistan and Muzaffarabad and Ladakh on February 15. From Srinagar, Gulmarg, Kulgam, Qazigund, Pahalgam to North Valley region, there is a possibility of rain. In Himachal Pradesh, areas of Lahaul-Spiti and Kullu-Manali may also receive rain.

Rain in Uttarakhand:

In Uttarakhand, Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Kedarnath, Badrinath, Joshimath including northern regions of Almora and Pithoragarh are likely to receive rainfall at isolated places. The weather will remain dry over the southern parts of these three states. Weather will be dry in Katra, Vaishno Devi or Shimla, Dharamsala or Dehradun to Nainital.

Similarly, in the plains of North India, the weather will be mainly dry in the western and eastern parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan and western and eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh. The weather activities have now started changing somewhat. For this reason, rain can be seen at some places over the southern parts of East Uttar Pradesh. Particularly from Sonbhadra and Mirzapur to Bhadohi, Prayagraj and Fatehpur, Mahoba and Kanpur, clouds can be seen and there can be a chance of drizzle or rain from these clouds. Actually, this rain will be due to the effect of a seasonal system.
