Weather Update: IMD forecasts heavy rain in UP, Haryana & Bihar

Southwest Monsoon 2021 has recorded moderate to moderate rainfall in the first half of the season.

New Delhi: Since the onset of monsoon, the entire country is receiving heavy to moderate rainfall. In some places, due to continuous heavy rains, landslides have also occurred and in some places there has been loss of life and property. According to Skymet Weather, Southwest Monsoon 2021 has recorded moderate to moderate rainfall in the first half of the season.

Rain Alert in North India:

The Meteorological Department has predicted rain in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Bihar, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Himachal, Andaman-Nicobar, Konkan and Goa today.

In view of the possibility of heavy rains in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh till August 2, a red alert has been issued for here.

In view of the possibility of heavy rain in Banda, Lalitpur, Jhansi, Agra, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Etawah and Jalaun of UP, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert. According to the Meteorological Department, till August 5, UP is not going to get any relief from the rains.

Light to moderate rain has been recorded in different districts of the state in the last 24 hours.

The Meteorological Department has also issued an alert for some districts of Bihar and Madhya Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in 10 districts of Rajasthan including Jhalawar, Baran, Kota, Pratapgarh, Ajmer, Jaipur, Dausa and Alwar.

Moderate Rain in North East:

The Meteorological Department has predicted light rain in Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal, Nagaland, Manipur, Jammu and Kashmir, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha, Karnataka, Kerala, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Lakshadweep. Indian Railways working in alert mode due to monsoon and floods, trains were diverted.

Due to the spate of rivers, six districts of West Bengal have been badly affected by the floods. Seven people have died in the floods here and about 2.5 lakh people have been shifted to a safe place. Army and Air Force personnel are engaged in relief work.
