New Delhi: In Tamil Nadu, it was intermittent throughout the day and light rain continued till Wednesday evening. In many parts of the state including Chennai and adjoining Chengalpet, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram and Villupuram, light rain intensified into heavy rains.

The rain is likely to continue over the state for at least the next two days due to the pressure over the Bay of Bengal. The weather system is very likely to cross North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh coast by the evening of November 11.

The Meteorological Department said that the weather system is likely to cross north Tamil Nadu and south Andhra Pradesh coast by the evening of November 11.

According to the Meteorological Department, it lies about 430 km east-southeast of Chennai and 420 km east-southeast of Puducherry. It is very likely to move west-northwestwards and reach north Tamil Nadu coast by the morning of November 11. Thereafter, it is likely to cross the coast by the evening of November 11.

Thursday Forecast:

As a result of the formation of a cyclonic storm, Tamil Nadu is likely to receive rains for at least the next two days. Rainfall is very likely to be isolated, heavy, very heavy and very heavy at isolated places and light to moderate at most places.
