Weather Update: Heavy Rain in Andhra Pradesh, Flood like situation in 1366 villages

New Delhi: Due to the heavy rainfall in the last few days, the rivers, canals, everything are in spate in many districts of Andhra Pradesh. All the reservoirs have been filled, many areas in Chittoor, Kadapa, Nellore, Antanpur districts are in bad shape due to floods.

Rain Alert in Andhra Pradesh:

Many villages and cities of these districts have come under the grip of floods. Houses have been submerged, many people were washed away in the strong current of water, vehicles have also been washed away in many areas. The number of deaths of people is increasing every day. At the same time, many animals have also been washed away in the flood waters. There has been a huge amount of damage to life and property.

Some areas were cut off from the national highway and washed away, while the bridge over the river itself broke down and washed away. Traffic between many cities has come to a standstill. Along with this, many trains have also been canceled due to heavy rains.

Flood like situation in many villages:

1366 villages have been the cause of terrible floods in the spate of many rivers and reservoirs which were hit by the flood. Due to this many people were trapped in the floods, personnel of the Air Force, NDRF and fire services rescued many people trapped in the flash floods. According to government data, 4 cities and 1366 villages have been affected by the floods. 36,279 people have been affected by heavy rains and floods, 2007 houses damaged, 1131 houses submerged. Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy over phone and inquired about the situation and promised all assistance to the state.

In Andhra Pradesh, overflowing rivers and canals have flooded several districts, damaged roads and derailed normal life at some places. Heavy rain in Andhra Pradesh has caused severe devastation.
