Weather Update: Heavy Rain alert in Haryana, UP, Delhi & Rajasthan

New Delhi: For the last two days, it has been raining heavily in many states including the country's capital Delhi. Delhi recorded 138.8 mm of rain on Saturday, causing heavy waterlogging and traffic disruption in many parts of the city.

According to the Meteorological Department, this was the highest rainfall in a day in 14 years. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has also issued an alert of heavy rain in many parts of the country on Sunday.

Rain Alert in Haryana:

According to the Meteorological Department, there may be heavy rain in Rohtak, Meham, Jhajjar in Haryana and Khatauli, Baraut in Uttar Pradesh in the next few hours. Along with this, the Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of light rain in the surrounding areas of Rajgarh district of Rajasthan.

At the same time, while issuing an orange alert, the Indian Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Bihar during the next 4 to 5 days.

IMD Forecast:

Rain warning has been issued in many districts of Madhya Pradesh today. Mandsaur, Neemuch, Agar, Shajapur, Jhabua, Betul, Datia, Bhind, Morena, Sheopurkalan, Narsinghpur and Chhindwara districts of Madhya Pradesh may receive heavy rains on Sunday. Along with this, the possibility of rain has also been expressed in the districts of Gwalior, Ujjain and Chambal divisions.

Talking about the weather in the south, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry will receive heavy rains on Sunday. Kerala, Mahe and Andhra Pradesh recorded heavy rains on Saturday. There is a possibility of heavy rain over the entire southern peninsula for the next 5 days.

According to the weathermen, the western end of the monsoon trough is close to its normal position, but the eastern end is lying more south than normal. As the east end gradually moves northwards, rain will intensify over Northeast India next week. For the next five days, more than 200 mm of rainfall is likely to occur over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya.
