Weather Update: Cold winds to hit Punjab, Temperature likely to rise in Delhi-NCR

New Delhi: The effect of the Western Disturbance over the mountains of North India will reduce from today, February 18. Along with this, the effect of clouds will also start decreasing on the hilly areas. However, from Gilgit, Baltistan and Muzaffarabad to Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir and northern parts of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, there will be a cloudy sky with isolated rain.

Weather Update:

The weather will remain clear and dry in the remaining hilly parts. On the other hand, if we talk about the plains, then the west direction will blow in the entire areas of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh like yesterday. The effect of sunlight will be visible during the day. The temperature will be seen below normal. Wind effect will continue.


Similarly, today it can be seen very hot in Rajasthan. Because the sky will be clear here and the wind direction will be from the Arabian Sea. On the other hand, if we talk about Central India, then the weather will remain clear and dry in Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Daman and Diu, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Goa. But, the winds which have started blowing from the Bay of Bengal are reaching Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha parts of Maharashtra via Andhra Pradesh. The effect of these winds will also remain over parts of Odisha and Chhattisgarh.

Rain Alert:

Due to these winds, clouds were formed even today and rain activities were seen at some places even today. Today it is expected that clouds can be seen from Vidarbha, Gadchiroli, Chandrapur to North Telangana and South Chhattisgarh and South Odisha. At the same time, parts of Madhya Pradesh adjoining Vidarbha may see clouds and rain at isolated places.

In the eastern parts of the country, there will be an effect of western direction over Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal. The wind will blow as it is blowing in Uttar Pradesh. Wind will blow at a speed of 20-25 kilometers per hour. Morning and evening temperatures will remain below normal. Temperatures will be recorded below normal in the sub-Himalayan regions and over Northeast India. In Sikkim, Jalpaiguri, Siliguri etc. the temperature will remain below normal and there is a possibility of rain at some places in these parts. The weather will remain clear and dry over Meghalaya and Assam including Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. There is a possibility of rain in Arunachal Pradesh and its adjoining areas.
