Weather Today: Cold Winds To Hit North India, Rain Alert in UP, Bihar, Jharkhand

New Delhi: Seasonal movement continues in the country (India weather report today). The weather is about to change due to the new western disturbance coming in North India today. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD weather report), the already existing clouds over the mountains are going to get thicker. Due to the moisture coming from Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea, moisture is visible in parts of Central India.

Weather Update:

These activities suggest that the pre-monsoon movement is going to increase soon over the plains of the country. Due to western disturbances, there is a possibility of light rain in the coming times over the central parts of Uttar Pradesh, Punjab (Punjab weather today) and Haryana. Apart from this, there is a possibility of heavy rain in southern parts of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, West Bengal and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. At the same time, due to strong winds, cold will increase in Punjab, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh today.


According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), after the increasing weather activity over the mountains on February 28, the weather is likely to take a turn in Delhi-NCR. Along with this, there is a possibility of rain in Bihar, Jharkhand and UP in the next 24 hours.

Snowfall in Gilgit, Baltistan:

There is a possibility of rain and light snow in the areas of Jammu and Kashmir including Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and Ladakh. It may also rain in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. According to the Meteorological Department, the weather will remain clear on Monday and Tuesday as well. From March 2, due to the activity of Western Disturbance, the clouds will again return towards Punjab and once again there will be a possibility of rain.

It is being told in the forecast that the weather will change rapidly in the country in the first and second week of March. Between 8-10 March, rain and snowfall will be seen. Due to north-westerly winds, the minimum temperature has dropped in some parts of Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat in the last 24 hours.
