Weather Today: Spike in temperature, Heatwave likely to hit UP, Delhi, Rajasthan

Weather Today: The heat in the country is breaking all the records in the month of March itself. The temperature in North India has increased rapidly in the last few days. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heat wave alert for many states including the national capital Delhi to Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Southern Haryana. In Uttar Pradesh too, the mercury is increasing day by day.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), whether it is the mountainous parts of North India or Kutch of Gujarat or Saurashtra, the heat is being seen continuously. The hill states where people used to go to get rid of the heat are also blowing hot air. IMD has predicted heat wave conditions in Jammu division, Himachal Pradesh for the next two days. At the same time, heat wave will wreak havoc in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha for the next four days. In the issued warning of the Meteorological Department, hot winds will prevail in the areas of Haryana, southern parts of UP, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, Chhattisgarh including eastern Madhya Pradesh and north-central Maharashtra from Wednesday 30 March to 1 April. There is no possibility of any major change in temperature in these states for the next five days.

The effect of strong hot winds will also be seen in the central part of the country and many areas including Saurashtra and Kutch in Gujarat. The maximum temperature of Ahmedabad in Gujarat is likely to cross 40 degree Celsius today. It will be difficult for people to leave their homes due to bright sunshine during the day. Apart from this, increase in minimum and maximum temperatures is also being recorded in different parts of Rajasthan.

In East India, there is a possibility of rain in some areas of Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal today. The weather will remain dry over the eastern and western parts of Uttar Pradesh. From Aligarh to Prayagraj and Varanasi, the temperature will increase in all places. On Wednesday, Varanasi, Shravasti, Kanpur, Lucknow, Mahoba, Jhansi, Shahjahanpur will all record temperatures above 40 degree Celsius. It will be very hot in UP.
