Weather Today: IMD issues rain alert in Maharashtra, Cold winds to hit Bihar

New Delhi: With the beginning of March, there is a rapid seasonal change in the country. Due to one after the other Western Disturbance, there is unseasonal rain in the plains of North India. According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), there was light snowfall in the high altitude areas. Hailstorm also occurred in the areas of Punjab, Rajasthan. At the same time, the weather movement has started taking a turn in the southern parts of the country.

If we talk about the weather systems in the country, then one in southern Tamil Nadu and its surrounding areas. With this, a trough is forming between Kerala and Madhya Maharashtra. Due to this, rain in Maharashtra and adjoining areas is likely to continue on March 11. There is also a circulation above, due to which clouds are visible over Western Uttar Pradesh on Thursday and even today, due to which there was light rain along with thunderstorms. There are clouds over the mountains but they are not rain givers.There is no weather activity in the northeastern states also.

In the areas of North India, the weather will be completely dry today in Gilgit, Baltistan and Muzaffarabad, Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir or Himachal Pradesh. The sky will remain clear over the areas of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh today. Cold north-westerly winds will blow over these areas. There will be a drop in morning and night temperatures. After rain in some areas of Rajasthan, the weather has now turned dry.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), in Maharashtra's Marathwada and Madhya Maharashtra, including Pune, Sangli, Satara and Konkan-Goa, between Alibaug to Ratnagiri and between Ahmednagar and Aurangabad today, on March 11, rain can be seen. Weather will remain dry at all places of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu.
