Weather Forecast: IMD issues snowfall alert in Himachal, Uttarakhand; Rain in Lucknow, Delhi

New Delhi: Moisture is reaching over the northern and central parts of the country from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea. A Western Disturbance is persisting over parts of North India. The effect of which is visible in the hills and plains. Rain has occurred at few places over Kashmir, Himachal and Uttarakhand. At the same time, in the plains, rain has occurred at isolated places in the north-west parts of Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan.

Weather activities are being seen at other places, which will show its effect for the next 24 hours. A circulation was made over the north-western parts of Rajasthan. It is now moving towards east. The effect of both these systems will be seen on the mountainous and plains of North India. Talking about South Peninsular India, there has been increased movement in the Bay of Bengal near the equator and in the Arabian Sea, whose effect can be visible in the southern states, such as Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Lakshadweep.

Rain alert in Uttarakhand:

In which part of the country, how will the weather be today, let us start from the northern parts of the country. In the hilly areas, the weather has been forecast to intensify from the night of February 8 in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and parts of Gilgit, Baltistan and Muzaffarabad. On coming down towards Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, weather activities are possible here during next 24 hours.

Amidst these weather movements, there is a possibility of rain at many places in these two states, including Shimla, Dehradun, Hrishikesh, Haridwar, Mussoorie, Nainital, Uttarkashi, Chamoli and isolated places in Badrinath, Kedarnath, Joshimath. Light to moderate showers are possible at some places. There is also a possibility of snowfall in these states.

If we look at the condition of the plains, then the weather changes have started showing in Punjab, Haryana and Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh since the night of 8 February. There is also a possibility of rain in many parts. The forecast for February 9 is that all parts of East Punjab including Ludhiana, Patiala, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar have forecast hailstorm with rain. There is a similar possibility in the capital Delhi. In Haryana, from Rohtak and Karnal, Kaithal to Sonipat, Panipat, Gurugram, Faridabad, Palwal, Vallabhgarh, all these places are likely to receive rain on Wednesday.
