Vadodara police arrests former IPL commissioner in a raid

Gandhinagar: Approximately 250 people, including the former Indian Premier League (IPL) Chairman Chirayu Amin, were arrested by the Vadodara police on Friday in a raid conducted during a wedding party in a village of Gujarat where liquor was being served despite strict prohibition laws.

A wedding party was organised by two high-profile businessmen at the Akhand Farmhouse in Sevasi village near Vadodara. In the party, the liquor was being served openly in violation of prohibition law.

The police also seized over 20 cartons of liquor from the spot.

The police officials confirmed the news stating that the raid was conducted following a tip-off. "After receiving information of it the police raided the place and arrested nearly 250 people which also included several women. One of them was former IPL Commissioner Chirayu Amin,' said a senior police officer. He further added, "The arrested persons were taken to a nearby hospital to test their blood samples."
