Washington: Showing its concern regarding Uri terror attack, America has condemned the horrific attack which claimed the lives of 18 Indian Army men. US National Security Advisor Susan Rice has strongly condemned the Uri terror attack in a telephonic conversation with India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.

She said that US is expecting Pakistan to take stiff action to combat United Nations -designated terrorist groups.

Spokesperson of US National Security Council Ned Price said:

  • Ambassador Rice reiterated our expectation that Pakistan take effective action to combat and delegitimise United Nations-designated terrorist individuals and entities, including Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Muhammad, and their affiliates.
  • She affirmed President Obama's commitment to redouble our efforts to bring to justice the perpetrators of terrorism throughout the world.
  • Ambassador Rice discussed our shared commitment with India to pursue regional peace and stability and pledged to deepen collaboration on counter-terrorism matters including on UN terrorist designations.

It may be recalled that the Indo-Pak tension caught fire after as many as 18 soldiers were killed by four Pakistani militants who carried out an attack on the 12th brigade headquarters of the Indian Army in Jammu and Kashmir’s Uri sector on September 18 last.
