Two suspicious bags found in Punjab, high alert sounded

Chandigarh: Two unidentified bags and two mobile tower batteries were found from the Mamun Army cantonment area in Pathankot on Thursday. A high alert have also been sounded in the area.

The investigation regarding the incident is underway and the area has been cordoned off by the police officials.

It may be mentioned that, on Wednesday, an abandoned Scorpio SUV was found in the Gurdaspur District after which the police had launched the search operation to track the suspects.

The police said, "The suspects belong to Jammu and Kashmir. Though, nothing suspicious was found from the SUV but the vehicle had fake registration number."

Earlier Punjab had witnessed two terror attacks in 2015 and 2016.
