Bhubaneswar: At least two Maoists, including a woman, were killed in an encounter with the police in a Salepali forested area of Odisha, officials said on Wednesday.

The exchange of bullets occurred in Salepali forest of Bargarh district late on Tuesday.

Director General of Police R.P. Sharma took to twitter and posted about the incident adding the combing operation was on in the forest. He tweeted, "Two Maoists got killed in an encounter with Odisha Police at Salepali."

However, the identity of the deceased, who were in uniform was yet to be ascertained.

Two 303 rifles, 105 rounds of live bullets and Rs 20, 000 was discovered from the deceased by the cops.
