Tral Encounter: Three militants, one policeman killed

Srinagar: Three militants, one policeman was killed and an Army Major and CRPF personnel were injured on Sunday in a gun battle between security forces and militants in Kashmir's Tral town.

Security forces have bombed the house where the terrorists were hiding.

Syed Javid Mujtaba Gillani, Kashmir Inspector General of Police (IGP) has refuted rumours that curfew had been imposed in Tral.

The fierce gunfight had started at around 6pm on Saturday, after receiving an intelligence input about some militants, who were supposed to be hiding in a house in Tral.

Protesters, however, clashed with the security personnel to disrupt the operation.

It was, however, believed that at least two Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists, including the right hand man of slain Hizbul commander Burhan Wani, Sabzar Bhat, were trapped in the encounter.
