New Delhi: The Trinamool Congress, Shiv Sena and other parties held a protest march to the Rashtrapati Bhavan over the demonetisation issue. The march was led by the TMC leader and West Bengal's Chief Minist Mamata Banerjee demonstrate against note ban. Banerjee said, "This march is to save common man from disaster that has been caused by the government at Centre."

Shiv Sena President Udhav Thackery said that they had decided to join the march with the TMC in larger public interest.

"If Modi can team up with Sharad Pawar then why cannot the Shiv Sena go with Mamata Banerjee? We are not against the Prime Minster but going with Banerjee to raise an issue of grave public importace before the President,” Thackeray stated after the meeting with his party members.

The Congress and the Communist Party (Marxist) have decided to stay away from the protest.
